On screen, Serena Williams and Mike Tyson Leave a Big Impression on the Boxing World

One look at Serena Williams’ latest Instagram post will energize you. In the video, Williams is hitting a punching bag hard while iconic professional boxer Mike Tyson holds it upright, providing resistance.

The comments are filled with encouraging notes. “You’re just amazing! My idol!” one fan commented. Another fan joked: “Mike looks like he’s struggling to hold the bag.”

Williams and Tyson are in Florida together at the Boca Raton Resort and Club for a pre-training camp hosted by Williams’s trainer, Patrick Mouratoglou. Williams and other tennis players are gearing up for the first Grand Slam tennis competition of 2020, the Australian Open, in January. Tyson was also spotted working out with Coco Gauff.

But Williams may be a favorite. She has shared multiple photos with Tyson during their time in Florida. In one, they’re posing as if facing off for a match, and in another he’s raising her glove, acknowledging her GOAT status. “Undisputed!” commented William’s husband, Alexis Ohanian. Singer Ciara commented, “Love this!” Needless to say, lots of people loved seeing these two incredible athletes together.

Tyson has posted a video with Williams to his Instagram as well. In it, he gives Williams a few pointers, then steps behind the bag before she fires away. “Hitting the bag with @serenawilliams at @bocaresort,” he captioned the post. “She has some power 🥊” He also shared a photo similar to those on Williams’s page, and in the caption he wrote: “I don’t want to get in the ring with this GOAT @serenawilliams. Much love and respect.”
